The Race that Stops a Nation......

Yes it was Melbourne Cup Day yesterday and we all watched as Americain took the cup, leaving the favourite (So you think) to come third. That's the Melbourne Cup for you. The favourite rarely wins it.
Americain takes the Cup :o)
For us working people that do not live in Melbourne, it means we get to have a bit fun in the middle of our hectic working day :) Oh yes, and there is lots of food :(

Yes, it was not a good day food wise. But then it is just one day. There are lot of these one days throughout the year aren't there :o)

Here is one of the items of food from yesterday
It's a chocolate cake covered in purple icing with a unicorn outlined in mini marshmallows. You see; our team at work has called itself the purpe unicorns. Silly I know, but when we came up we were the only team in the office that was all female. Since then there has been one guy join our team, but we are determined not to change the name. We have told him that when the guys outnumber the gals we can change the name. But until then we have to put it to the vote an gals always vote together.

Our little bit of rebellion against the restraints of work.

The cake was delicious. Made by the same person who made the Yummy Cake from Hell. Besides this cake and the caramel slice I took, the rest of the food I ate wasn't too bad, there were just a few crackers with cheese and fruit and then a mini quiche for lunch with some more fruit and a mini pastry.

Overall, it wasn't the best food day, but I have to admit I did find it interesting that the little bits of everything that I ate was enough. This is probably the first time this has happened since I have been banded.

Able to eat just a small portion of the food that isn't so good for me and be satisfied with it. That is a day to remember.

Thanks for all your wonderful comments on my last post. And I really have to agree with Dee, when you get the right amount of water, everything else seems that much easier.
